PSL 2026 generates over three times more profit than last year: reports

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has told the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat that Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 generated a pre-tax profit of over Rs7.54 billion, a sharp rise from the roughly Rs2 billion recorded in last year’s season.

The committee, meeting under the chairmanship of Senator Rana Mahmood ul Hassan, was shown a detailed breakdown of PSL 2026 expenditure, revenue and profit.

PCB ifficials attributed the surge to the addition of two new teams, which brought the total number of franchises to eight.

Total revenue for PSL 2026 stood at over Rs10.19 billion against total expenditure of over Rs2.64 billion, producing the pre-tax profit of over Rs7.54 billion.

In comparison, PSL 2025 had returned a profit of approximately Rs2 billion to the PCB, while PSL 2024 had posted a profit of Rs2.46 billion.
