Rameez Ibrahim has become the first Pakistani athlete to win a gold medal at the Mr America International Bodybuilding Championship in the United States.
Ibrahim, who represents Karachi, won gold in the Men’s Physique category on Sunday against competitors from 25 countries. The championship is one of the oldest bodybuilding competitions in the world. Judges praised his conditioning and stage presence.
He also won a silver medal in the Pro category. Reports said he was the first Pakistani bodybuilder to compete at the event.
Ibrahim dedicated his victory to the Pakistan Army. He thanked his fans for their prayers and support.
This is not his first international title. In 2022, Ibrahim won three world titles at a championship in Thailand. He became the first Pakistani bodybuilder to achieve that feat.
In 2024, he won gold in the Men’s Physique category at the Mr Universe competition, organised by the World Fitness Federation in Las Vegas. The win earned him a pro card in the Physique category. Athletes from 44 other countries took part in that event.
