Rawalpindiz captain Mohammad Rizwan has made headlines for another motivational speech to his teammates after the franchise’s fourth consecutive loss in PSL 11, and the internet has plenty to say about it.

The Pindiz, playing their first-ever PSL, are on the brink of an early exit from the tournament, having lost all four games they have played so far.

The team’s social media accounts shared a video of Rizwan addressing his players in the dressing room, and it quickly spread across social media.

In the video, Rizwan drew on his experience from a famous comeback during his time as Multan Sultans captain.

“Even if there is a 0.1% chance, we must keep hope that we can reach the final. When Multan Sultans became champions, we had already lost four out of our first five matches. In the fifth match, it felt like we were completely out of the tournament, but Allah helped us win three to four matches in a row and we qualified for the final,” he said.

He urged his players to keep fighting regardless of the result.

“So, guys, even if there is only a 1% chance, we should not lose hope. We will keep fighting. There is nothing wrong with losing. We just have to fight like champions,” Rizwan told them.

“No one should sit in their rooms. Whether we perform or not, it’s fine. Even if we lose, we will stay together, go out, and support each other. We will fight for everything, and InshaAllah, we will succeed.”

The speech went viral but reactions online were a mixed bag, much like back when Rizwan’s “clap like champions” dressing room speech went viral in 2024.

While some fans expressed genuine support with comments like “best of luck guys” and “InshaAllah comeback will come soon [sic]”, others pointed out how foreign players probably didn’t even understand the Urdu-heavy speech.

“Mitchell, Billings, Forrester and McConchie be like: Arey kehna kia chahte ho,” wrote one user. Another echoed the same sentiment with “Daryl Mitchell: Kya bol raha hai.”

One fan went straight to the team’s biggest on-field problem. “Oh bhai opening change krwao, humein powerplay mein score chahiye jo hum se hota nahi,” a user wrote, highlighting the team’s poor powerplay batting.

The Pindiz still have six league stage games remaining and will need to win all, or at least five of them, to keep any realistic hope of reaching the knock-out stage.
