Actress Sadia Imam has claimed that Meera left Tamasha 5 early because the veteran actress told her she could not continue in the house without a script.
Meera entered the show as a wildcard. Viewers expected the celebrated Lollywood actress to bring her outspoken personality and star power, but her stay was brief. Fans have since asked why she left so quickly.
Sadia spoke about the matter during a recent television appearance. She said that she and Meera know each other through their professional association with Akif Ilyas, and their friendship goes back to their work in the entertainment industry.
Sadia recalled a phone call with Meera after the exit. She asked her friend why she left when she had earlier said she wanted to win the show.
“Meera called me after walking out of Tamasha house, and I asked her, ‘Why did you leave so early? You told me you were there to win,'” Sadia said.
Meera explained that she was used to working with scripts in films and found the unscripted format difficult.
“Sadia, we are used to following the script in movies. I can read the script, and there was no script at the Tamasha house. You please write me a script, and I will continue in the Tamasha house,” Sadia recalled Meera telling her.
Sadia joked in reply that she could not write a script when the contestants had no access to phones.
“I said, ‘How can I write you a script as per the format? You guys aren’t allowed phones, so how will that happen,'” Sadia asked.
Sadia said she “kind of loved Meera’s innocence” but still found the reason surprising, since experienced film actresses work with prepared scripts and dialogues, unlike reality show contestants.
She then praised Laila, another Tamasha 5 contestant, for her active role in discussions inside the house.
“That’s why I am impressed with Laila; her participation is amazing. She has pretty much talked about everything,” Sadia observed.
Meera’s entry had already drawn attention because of her long career in the film industry and her connection with Laila. She joined as a wildcard and was expected to support Laila during her time in the house.
