Sara Khan's claim that brand is 'affordable' prompts backlash
Renowned actress Sara Khan is facing criticism after describing her clothing brand as 'affordable.
Sara recently launched her clothing brand, Aliyana Falak, named after her daughter, and promoted it during an appearance on a private TV morning show alongside her.
During the show, she stated that her brand was within the reach of the general public. However, her remark sparked backlash, with social media users accusing her of being out of touch with reality.
Many digital influencers and Instagram pages criticised her claim, arguing that the prices of her clothing line are far beyond the reach of the general public.
Users flooded social media with sarcastic comments. One person wrote, "She is indirectly calling us poor!" while another said, "After listening to Sara Khan, I’ve started to realize my poverty even more."
Adding to the controversy, an Instagram user shared a video showing a picture of an unstitched three-piece dress from Sara Khan’s brand, priced at 20,000 rupees. The video further fuelled the criticism, with users questioning how such prices could be considered "affordable."
Despite the ongoing backlash, the actress has not yet responded to the criticism. However, the debate over her statement continues to trend on social media.
