Neena Gupta won multiple awards for her stellar performance in 2019’s hit Bollywood film, Badhai Ho. The actress has always been candid in her media interactions, and has launched autobiography Sach Kahoon Toh.
She writes in her book that while she was filming her super hit song Choli Ke Peechay Kya hai, the acclaimed filmmaker, Subhash Ghai of Ram Lakhan fame told her wear a ‘heavily padded bra’ to look raunchier.
She writes, “They put me in a tribal Gujarati outfit and sent me to Subhash Ghai for approval. ‘No! No! No! No!’ he shouted. ‘Kuch bharo.’ I was so embarrassed. In my opinion, he was referring to my choli and stating that it needed to be filled. It wasn’t anything personal, I knew. He had visualized something . . . bigger for the rendition.”
The film Khalnayak starred Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in leading roles.
