A viral video from IShowSpeed’s livestream during the USA vs Paraguay World Cup opener at SoFi Stadium has shown former Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic and French World Cup winner Thierry Henry walking up to him and asking him who he thinks will win the tournament.
“Portugal, Ronaldo winning the World Cup,” he responded without hesitation, reacting to which Zlatanwas seen taking the mic away from Speed’s hand.
Speed looked at him and said, “What? Watch, and look, watch. Watch he win, watch he win. Watch he win, watch. Watch Ronaldo win. I promise you, I promise you he gonna win.”
Later, the night remained eventful for Speed at the stadium as he hit 55 million YouTube subscribers during the game. The match itself ended USA 4-1 Paraguay, with Damian Bobadilla’s own goal opening the scoring, Folarin Balogun netting twice and Gio Reyna adding a late goal.
Speed’s presence at the World Cup runs deeper than stadium appearances. His single “World Cup (Champions)”, released June 1, was added to the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album, an 18-track compilation released globally on June 5 through FIFA Sound and Universal Music.
The music video crossed 8.3 million views and one million likes within days of release. FIFA President Gianni Infantino also awarded Speed with the first official Fan ID for the tournament.
On top of that, his 2022 single “World Cup” earned Gold certification from the RIAA on June 6, his first such certification, with roughly 97 million Spotify streams and 211 million YouTube views to its name.
