Legendary Pakistani fast bowler and former Test captain Wasim Akram has announced that his missing pet dog, Duke, has been found safe in Karachi.
Akram had earlier posted a story on his official Instagram account appealing for help after the dog went missing from the DHA Phase 8 area. He had urged the public to check their neighborhoods for any sign of the pet.
The family had announced a reward of Rs250,000 to anyone who provided information that helped locate the dog.
In a new video update shared on his social media, Akram confirmed that Duke had been safely recovered. He thanked the public for their support.
He said, “Assalam-o-Alaikum, I have great news. Duke, my puppy who is four or five months old, has been found. Thank you to everyone who helped on social media. I want to thank people from Pakistan and around the world for their support.”
Akram shared that a female lawyer had sent a video asking if the dog in it was the one he was searching for.
The former cricketer also used the opportunity to appeal to pet owners, urging them not to keep their dogs chained at all times.
