Bangladesh have batted through day one of the first Test against Pakistan at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, closing on 301-4 at stumps.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to field. Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed Mahmudul Hasan for 8 with the first wicket falling at 18, before Hassan Ali removed Shadman Islam for 13, making it 37-2.
Bangladesh steadied from there and batted through to lunch at 101 for two. In the second session, Mominul Haque and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto built a substantial partnership to take the team past 200.
Shanto went on to bring up his century before falling lbw off Mohammad Abbas for 101, with the third wicket falling at 201.
Momin continued to bat but fell for 91 off 200 balls, dismissed lbw off Noman Ali, bringing up the fourth wicket. Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das then saw Bangladesh through to stumps.
Afridi finished the day with figures of 1-67 in 19 overs while Mohammad Abbas took 1-51 in 22 overs.
Hassan Ali also took one wicket, finishing with 1-54 from 18 overs, while Noman Ali claimed 1-80 from 20 overs. Salman Ali Agha bowled 6 overs, conceding 25 runs.
Pakistan also handed debut caps to Azaan Awais and Abdullah Fazal, while Babar Azam remained unavailable for the match due to a knee injury.
The second Test between the two sides is scheduled to begin in Sylhet on May 16.
