‘I Hate It!’ Jenna Bush Hager Slams This Common Mom Saying
Jenna Bush Hager recently shared her dislike for a popular parenting term. During a new episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, the television host opened up about the phrase “mom friends.”
The episode aired on Friday, July 11, and featured guest host Dwyane Wade. In their conversation, Jenna revealed that although she has close friends who are also mothers, she isn’t a fan of the label.
“Some of my best ‘mom friends’ are from when I had my 12-year-old,” Jenna said. She added that the phrase “mom friends” feels like it separates those friendships from her honest, long-term relationships.
She explained, “It implies they’re not my true friends.” Still, she acknowledged the value of having a support system while raising children. “To go through every stage of life together? I think it is necessary to have that community,” she said.
Wade, a father of five, agreed with Jenna’s view. He said it's essential to connect with other parents when children build friendships. “If their parents are going to come over, you’ve got to get along,” he said.
Jenna, who is a mother to Mila, 12, Poppy, 9, and Hal, 5, often talks about parenting on her show. She frequently shares personal experiences that other parents can relate to.
The conversation also briefly touched on the future of the show. Jenna mentioned they are still looking for someone to replace co-host Hoda Kotb permanently. “We’re still searching,” she said. “We definitely want somebody permanent at some point.”
Jenna’s honest take on parenting language sparked interest among fans and viewers. Many appreciated her fresh perspective on friendship and motherhood.
As parenting terms continue to evolve, Jenna’s comments remind us that genuine connections matter more than labels.
