Dozens of cricketing fans have claimed that they were locked out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 final at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday night despite holding valid tickets.

Fans, in now-viral social media posts, claimed they spent thousands of rupees on tickets, only to be stopped at the gates because “the stadium was full”. Undated videos also showed several people standing in queues for hours before security personnel pushed them out without explanation.

While a number of people were seen tearing up their tickets and throwing them away, some demanded prompt investigation and accountability.

One ticket holder took to X to complain directly to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

“Dear Sir Mohsin Naqvi, I work in Lahore for a salary of 40,000. I don’t want to explain the circumstances in which I purchased the ticket, but I was happy to watch the PSL final. However, when I arrived at 7:20, the gates were closed. After making us wait in line for two hours, we were humiliated, pushed around, and then forced out of the stadium. I still have the ticket with me. And this didn’t just happen to me—many others faced the same issue, especially those who had 6,000-rupee tickets. How can such a big blunder happen? What is our fault—that we are cricket fans?” he wrote.

Earlier, PCB advised fans to arrive at the stadium by 6:30 pm to witness pre-match entertainment and the closing ceremony.

Gates were scheduled to open at 6 pm. However, fans who arrived after 7:20 pm claimed the gates had already been shut and they were locked out.

While fans continue questioning how their seats were occupied despite having confirmed tickets, PSL management or the PCB has not yet offered any explanation as of yet.
