Deputy prime minister and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar has been recognised by officials and voices across more than ten countries for his work in diplomatic efforts during the Iran-United States crisis.
Over the past week, senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United States (US), China, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Uzbekistan and Egypt have publicly acknowledged Dar’s involvement in facilitating ceasefire negotiations and efforts toward stability in the region.
According to reports from diplomatic channels and coverage in media outlets, Pakistan’s top diplomat has maintained focus on de-escalation at a time when tensions in the region have risen. A sentiment analysis for April 5-11, 2026, ranked FM Dar as the most viewed world leader during that period, with the highest ratio of positive to negative sentiment among all leaders measured.
In the 24-hour span of April 10-11, Dar registered 30.5 percent positive sentiment against 8.5 percent negative sentiment. This placed him ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The data also showed Pakistan’s growing relevance on the diplomatic front, particularly in handling crises that involve major powers and regional players.
As US Vice President JD Vance on Apr 11 arrived in Islamabad to attend a peace summit, officials also noted that Dar’s efforts were central to closing gaps in communication between opposing sides, creating space for dialogue when other channels had stalled.
