Pakistan delivered a standout performance at the 33rd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship in Panzhihua, China, finishing the tournament with two gold medals, one silver, and two bronze medals.
The highlight of the campaign came in the Boys Under-17 final, where Pakistan’s Nauman Khan defeated India’s Shiven Agarwal to claim the title. The match lasted 40 minutes, with Nauman Khan winning 3-1 to take the gold medal.
Pakistan doubled up on gold in the Boys Under-15 category, where top seed Ahmed Ryan Khalil dominated Malaysia’s Vidhurran Ruthiran throughout a one-sided final.
The 29-minute contest ended 3-0 in Ahmed Ryan Khalil’s favour, earning him the Asian Junior champion title.
In the Girls Under-15 final, Pakistan’s Mahnoor Ali faced China’s top seed Zi Yuan and fell to a 3-0 defeat in a match that lasted 23 minutes, though Mahnoor walked away with the silver medal. It was not her first appearance on an Asian Junior podium, as she had previously reached the Girls Under-13 final the year before and claimed silver there as well.
Pakistan’s bronze medals came from the Boys Under-15 category, where Sohail Adnan and Muhammad Umair Arif both reached the semi-finals to secure third-place finishes.
The team travelled with Group Captain (Retd) Irfan Asghar serving as team manager, while former world player Faheem Gul led the squad as head coach.
