Pacer Mohammad Amir has joked that the people of Rawalpindi are “not praying properly” as the team continues with its losing streak in its first-ever Pakistan Super League (PSL) edition.
Before the match against Quetta Gladiators on Friday, Rawalpindiz shared a video asking Amir for his message to fans. “Pindi fans are not praying properly,” he responded, adding that they have tried everything and nothing has worked.
Rawalpindiz lost to Quetta Gladiators by 61 runs on Friday in Karachi, extending their winless run in the tournament. The team has now played five matches without a single victory.
The video and Amir’s remarks, which came before the fifth consecutive loss, quickly spread on social media, drawing a wave of reactions from fans.
One user wrote, “Or jaisa aap ka time chal rha hay yeh na ho points table se bhi kahin bahir na ho jao.” Another wrote, “Baatein karwalo isse bas.”
A third took a dig at the team’s position, writing, “Team out of tournament.”
One fan, however, kept faith, “Hamari duain aap ke sath hein, aap log inshallah niche se top kro ge.” Another added, “TV py beth k baten krna bht Asan hai.”
Each team plays 10 matches in the PSL 11 league stage. Rawalpindiz have played five and lost all, leaving them with five matches for a chance to turn their campaign around and fight for a place in the top four.
