A video of Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell handing his batting pads to a fan after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 final at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on May 3 is going viral on social media.

After the match ended, Maxwell stepped out onto the dressing room terrace and waved toward the adjacent enclosure.

Fans who had stayed back gathered around while Maxwell walked over and gave his pads to a supporter standing there. The moment was caught on camera and spread rapidly across social media.

Fans flooded the comments with positive reactions. “Very nice gesture from the Australian legend,” wrote one. “Great gesture,” said another. “This man is a legend,” added a third. “Aik hi dil hai kitni bar jeeto gy Maxi bhai,” read another comment.

It was not Maxwell’s first viral video from the tournament. Earlier in the PSL season, a clip of Maxwell giving a catching lesson to young players ahead of a match also made the rounds online. In the video, Maxwell guided the youngsters through the technique of taking boundary catches, working with them one on one.

The PSL 2026 final was played between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen, with Peshawar Zalmi winning by five wickets to claim their second PSL title. Aaron Hardie was named Player of the Match for his career-best figures of 4 for 27, which skittled Kingsmen for 129, before his unbeaten 56 off 39 balls took Zalmi over the line.

Maxwell played for the losing side Hyderabad Kingsmen. He was caught at mid-on in the seventh over attempting to slap a back-of-a-length delivery from Nahid Rana, falling for a duck as Kingsmen collapsed from 69 for 2 to 90 for 7.

His PSL 2026 campaign had a standout moment earlier in the tournament. In his first five innings, he had scored just 26 runs, but he turned things around at the moment Kingsmen needed him most, smashing 70 off 37 balls, his highest score in 40 T20 matches, to help Kingsmen become the first side in PSL history to avoid first-round elimination after losing their opening four fixtures.
