A video showing Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell giving a catching lesson to young players ahead of a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match, has gone viral over the internet.
In the clip, Maxwell can be seen guiding the youngsters through the technique of taking boundary catches, working with them one-on-one.
“What an absolute gem of a personality,” wrote one social media user while sharing the video. “A true role model,” said another as a number of netizens also praised the gesture saying it was the mark of a great player.
Maxwell joined Hyderabad Kingsmen in the second half of PSL 11 after the team had lost all four of their opening matches. His arrival brought fresh hope to the struggling side, as the team has gone on to win both its matches so far.
The Australian star, who scored 50 runs and took one wicket in both games combined, is one of the country’s most destructive T20 batters. He has played 130 T20 internationals, the most by any Australian player, scoring 2,897 runs at a strike rate of 158.42, including five centuries and 12 half-centuries.
Across all T20 cricket, he has accumulated 10,986 runs and claimed 196 wickets in 502 matches. In June 2025, Maxwell retired from One Day Internationals after 149 matches and two World Cup victories.
