Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has responded to a viral social media post about a young cancer patient who wishes to meet Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.
A video shared on X highlighted the story of Farzan, a young fan from Qila Deedar Singh, Gujranwala.
In an emotional video message, Farzan expressed his admiration for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, saying, “My name is Farzan, and I am a huge fan of Lahore Qalandars. My greatest wish is to meet Shaheen Shah Afridi. Does he have time for me?”
The post quickly gained attention online, prompting Shahid Afridi to respond, “Plz share his contact details.”
Lahore Qalandars management later said they have received the request and will invite the child to a match in Lahore. The franchise also plans to arrange a meeting between Farzan and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The management added that the child will also receive a signed shirt from the players as a gesture of support and encouragement.
Shaheen-led Lahore Qalandars currently sit third in the PSL 11 points table with two wins and one defeat from three matches, along with a net run rate of 1.546.
The defending champions are scheduled to play their next match against Islamabad United at Gaddafi Stadium on April 9.
