Punjab Police has urged victims of blackmail, particularly women, to step forward and report such crimes, assuring them of full support and protection.

As per the details, Lahore’s Defence Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shehrbano Naqvi has in a video message told harassment and blackmail victims to contact the police without fear. “We will help and completely facilitate you,” she said, going on to assure victims of protecting their privacy and ensuring action under wraps.

ASP Naqvi confirmed that a security guard who had been blackmailing women with threats of releasing their personal photos and videos has been arrested.

She stated that the arrest was made after a woman reported to the police that the suspect has been blackmailing her for the past two years.

“The woman said that the man possessed her personal videos and had been blackmailing her continuously for two years,” ASP Naqvi said.

She further said that the blackmailer was demanding that “she (the victim) has to perform 2000 sajdas (prostration) for him, stand in the sunlight for two hours, and record a video of it to send to him.”

Additionally, ASP Naqvi said that the blackmailer was also extorting money from the woman so that he could buy a phone for himself.

“When we picked him up, we discovered that he had been blackmailing several other women as well. He was trapping the women on TikTok,” she added.

Regarding the blackmailer, ASP Naqvi said he was employed as a guard at a security company. “He has ruined the lives of many women,” she revealed
