Popular YouTuber Rajab Butt was granted interim bail on Thursday in a case related to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and Section 295-C of Pakistan’s penal code, which deals with blasphemy, ARY News reported.

A sessions court in Lahore barred the police from arresting Butt until June 21 after the controversial vlogger appeared in court in person during the hearing.

The court also ordered him to appear before the police and fully cooperate with the investigation.

The case was filed at the Nishtar Colony Police Station after Rajab Butt launched a perfume named “295,” which caused major controversy.

Butt was arrested the day after his wedding on charges of displaying firearms in public and for keeping a lion cub at his house without a license.

Police, along with the Wildlife Department, raided his home in the Chuhng area after receiving reports that he had illegal wildlife and was publicly displaying weapons. During the raid, the lion cub gifted to him at his wedding was taken into custody.

A special judicial magistrate later found Rajab Butt guilty of keeping the lion cub illegally and sentenced him to one year of community service.

"He will make/record a video in the form of vlog with dedicated content on the animal’s right for a full five minutes in the first week of every month for a full one year starting from February 2025 to January 2026," read the verdict by Magistrate Hamidul Rehman Nasir.
