President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif have urged Pakistanis to draw guidance from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and make hard work and service to humanity part of their lives in separate messages issued on Wednesday on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi, extending greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah on the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
President Zardari said that the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) should be reflected in society through justice, fairness, tolerance, inter-sectarian and interfaith harmony and respect for human dignity.
“It is incumbent upon us to practically promote justice and fairness, tolerance, inter-sectarian and interfaith harmony, and the protection of human dignity in our society,” he said.
He added that the occasion serves as a reminder of the blessing through which humanity was given a path of faith, guidance, justice, mercy and noble character.
PM Shehbaz stated that Pakistan’s economic, social and moral challenges could be addressed by shaping collective life according to Islamic teachings.
“We must mould our collective lives in accordance with the perfect guidance provided by Islam,” he said, according to state-run Radio Pakistan.
He also called on citizens to contribute towards making Pakistan a strong, prosperous, peaceful and welfare state.
In a separate post on X, Shehbaz said that the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) “remain an eternal source of guidance for all humanity calling us towards compassion, justice, tolerance, unity and service to others”.
“Let us pledge to illuminate our character and collective conduct with the light of Seeratun Nabi and work together for a peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan,” he said.
Eid Miladun Nabi is observed by Muslims around the world on 12 Rabiul Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar, to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
