Renowned actress Komal Aziz Khan recently opened up about her fear of marriage during her appearance on Nida Yasir's morning show, where she candidly discussed personal experiences and societal pressures.

When asked what scares her the most, Komal said, "I’m not afraid of anything, I’m very brave, but I’m afraid of marriage." She explained that this fear is the reason she hasn't married yet.

Sharing the reason behind her hesitation, she stated, "I haven’t seen good marriages around me, and that’s what makes me afraid of getting married."

She added, "I can do anything, I can face mobs, I can even argue with the police, I can participate in protests. But marriage? That scares me."

On the impact of marriage on women’s careers, she said, "Many girls in my office work really well, but after marriage, they have to leave their jobs. They’re not even allowed to work on their own terms."

She expressed her disappointment with societal norms that discourage women from continuing their professional lives after getting married. "Girls who work hard, who build a name for themselves before marriage, are often forced to give it all up after they tie the knot," she said.

The actress added, "I haven’t seen any ideal marriages in my family or social circle. They weren’t terrible, but they weren’t good enough to make me believe that marriage is the ultimate goal."

Reflecting on how marriage is often glamourised, she said, "All the excitement about clothes, salons, and events is just for the first few weeks. After that, real life begins, and that’s the tough part."

She concluded by saying, "From the beginning, I wanted to be financially and emotionally independent and strong; that’s why I didn’t get married." However, she hinted at a possible change in perspective, adding, "Now, my fear of marriage is getting better gradually."
