Norwegian Air and British Airways have agreed to a lighthearted social media wager ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinal between Norway and England.
Norwegian Air challenged British Airways on Instagram, proposing that the losing country’s airline swap its Instagram profile logo for its rival’s for one day. British Airways responded with a playful jab, saying, “Don’t make bets you can’t win,” before accepting the challenge.
The friendly rivalry has drawn widespread attention online, with football fans and travelers praising the airlines for their humorous marketing ahead of one of the tournament’s most anticipated quarterfinals.
British Airways is the United Kingdom’s flag carrier, while Norwegian Air is Scandinavia’s second largest airline. Norway and England meet on July 12, with the winner advancing to face either Argentina or Switzerland in the semifinals.
On the other side of the bracket, Spain has already secured a semifinal clash against France after beating Belgium 2-1.
France reached the semifinals by defeating Morocco 2-0, with Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele scoring the goals.
