'Pakistan have us a walima'; Shafaat Ali mocks India's 'Operation Sindoor' in viral Modi spoof
Comedian Shafaat Ali has added his signature satirical twist to the national discourse, as outrage continues across Pakistan over India’s recent missile attacks, this time by imitating Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a viral video.
In the clip, posted on Instagram, Shafaat mocked India’s military move by parodying Modi’s speech style and choice of words.
Speaking in a thick Modi accent, he said, “Last night, our Air Force asked for permission, and the command was ‘Sindoor’, a decision that will change history and win the Bihar elections.”
Referring to Pakistan’s powerful retaliation, he joked, “When our Air Force reached Pakistan, we were given a full walima in response. Now, what can I say about our Rafale and MiG aircraft?”
The spoof didn’t end there. In a humorous tribute to Pakistan’s military leadership, Shafaat, still in character as Modi, declared, “We want to say only one thing to Pakistan on behalf of the Indian Army and the world’s largest democracy: General Asim Munir, you are my life, my soul!”
Shafaat’s satirical video quickly went viral, striking a chord with viewers who found humour in the face of ongoing tensions. While packed with comedy, the performance also captured the spirit of a nation standing united against aggression.
