Days after veteran Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh shared his "unpleasant" experience of working with Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi in Hindi film Jannat, the Indian actor has responded to the claims.

During a recent TV appearance, Sheikh said that he found Hashmi’s behaviour cold and unfriendly on the set of Jannat that was released in 2008. He said Hashmi was unlike other Bollywood stars he had worked with, adding, "I did not talk to him at all after filming."

Reacting to the claims, Hashmi dismissed the allegations, calling them "bizarre".

"I was in my 20s back then, and he is much older than me. We were never friends and I didn’t hang out with him. But I don’t recall anything like this happening," he said.

Hashmi added that he didn’t know what Sheikh had taken back with him. "[...] But he has held on to it for 16-17 years. As far as I’m concerned, this is just a misunderstanding that has now blown out of proportion."

Jannat was a crime-romance film starring Emraan Hashmi, Javed Sheikh and debut actress Sonal Chauhan. Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, the film was a box office success and received positive reviews.
