The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule for the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
The tournament starts on October 2 in Windhoek, where a three-team Super Series decides the final Group Stage team.
The 12 remaining teams will split into two groups of six.
| Group A | Group B |
|---|---|
| India | New Zealand |
| Australia | South Africa |
| Pakistan | Sri Lanka |
| Afghanistan | England |
| Zimbabwe | Bangladesh |
| Qualifier A | Qualifier B |
Group Stage action begins on October 7 in Cape Town, where defending champions Australia face India in a repeat of the 2023 final. South Africa play New Zealand in Cape Town on October 9. Co-host Zimbabwe open their campaign in Bulawayo.
South Africa and Zimbabwe qualified directly as co-hosts. The best eight teams on the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings at the 30 September 2026 cut-off joined them. The Cricket World Cup Qualifier decides the last four places. Its top finisher goes straight to the Group Stage, while the other three play in the Super Series.
Namibia hosts three high-stakes Super Series matches on October 2, 4 and 6. The second, third and fourth-placed finishers from Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2027 play a single round robin, and the team that finishes top claims the final Group Stage spot.
India and Pakistan meet in Johannesburg on October 10. England play Sri Lanka on October 13 in the Namibia Cricket Ground’s final fixture of the tournament.
The Group Stage ends at the new ground in Victoria Falls, where India take on Zimbabwe in the first World Cup match at the venue.

To help fans plan travel and buy tickets, the ICC has pre-seeded the Super 7 positions:
A1: India
A2: Australia
A3: Pakistan
AB4: England
B1: New Zealand
B2: South Africa
B3: Sri Lanka
If a non-seeded team qualifies and a pre-seeded team does not, the newcomer takes the displaced team’s position. The Super 7 stage opens on Monday, October 25, 2027, in Johannesburg, with A2 playing B3. That means Australia face Sri Lanka if both qualify. If Bangladesh qualify and Sri Lanka do not, Bangladesh take the B3 spot and play Australia that day.
The top four teams after the Super 7 phase reach the semi-finals. The first-placed team plays fourth, and second plays third. The first semi-final takes place on November 17 in Cape Town, and the second on November 18 in Tshwane. Both have a reserve day.
The final takes place in Johannesburg on November 21with November 22 being the reserve day.
